Christelle Téa is known for her Indian ink drawings. Libraries; the 14 museums of the City of Paris (presented at an exhibition at the Musée Cognacq-Jay); interior views such as those of zinc roofs… Christelle Téa’s drawings are made directly in front of the model, without sketches or reworking. How did this collaboration come about? We fell in love with Codimat Collection! It was also a challenge to transpose two of the artist’s drawings onto two large rugs. The challenge was met thanks to Codimat Collection’s expertise: the artist’s drawing is over-embroidered by hand on a canvas embroidered entirely in chain stitch, to convey all the poetry of Christelle Téa’s Indian ink line.
